West, Johnston & Co., Richmond Know all Men by these Presents, That We A. J. Edwards and J. W. Whitley (and each of us hereby waive the benefit of our homestead exemption as to this obligation,) are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Virginia in the just and full sum of Three Hundred dollars, to the payment whereof well and truth to be made to the said Commonwealth, we bind ourselves, and each of us, our, and each of our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this twenty second day of December in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine and in the 104th of the Commonwealth. THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That if the above bound A. S. Edwards, who was, by a decree of the Circuit Court of Surry County rendered on the 14th day of November 1879 in the Chancery suit of Fitchett's exor v Hopkins appointed a Commissioner to make sale of certain real estate whereof Nancy J Fitchett died seized in said suit mentioned and described shall faithfully discharge the duties of his said office or trust, then the above obligation to be void, or else to remain in full force and virtue.
