Pleas before the Honorable, Judge of the Superior Court of Chancery, holden at the town of Lynchburg as required by law for the District thereof on Monday the 3 day of November in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty three and in the 48 year of our foundation Be it remembered that heretofore to wit at a Superior Court of Chancery holden at the said town on Saturday the 20 day of October in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one. Upon &c (Copy Orders Nos. pa 432 & 434 The following is the petition mentioned in the foregoing order (Here Copy No 1.) The following is the transcript of the record referred to in the foregoing petition (Here Copy 2) And afterward to wit on the 28. day of the said Month of October 1821, in pursuance of a writ of Certiorari which issued in Virtue of the foregoing Order, of the 20 October 1821 the following transcript of the record & proceedings of the said County Court, was returned, certified by James Powell esq one of the Justices of the said County (Here Copy 3). And afterward to wit at a Superior Court of Chancery holden at the said town on Tuesday the 14 day of May 1822. (Here Copy Order Nos. pa 514) And afterward to wit at rules holden in the Clerks Office of the said Superior Court of chancery on the 27 day. of the month last aforesaid The plaintiff by counsel replied generally to the answer of the defendant Nelson Crawford and commissions were then awarded the plot and that defendant to examine and take the deposit[on of] their witness and the deft. &c Here Copy 4 leaving our [torn page] annexed to a copy of which ord[er of] Publication is the following affidavit (Here Copy 5 And at rules holden in the clerks office of the said Superior Court of Chancery on the 5 day of May 1823 on the motion of the plaintiff by Counsel this Cause was set for hearing as to the defendant Mason Crawford The following other affidavit was filed in the foregoing cause (Here Copy 6)
