Mr. James Jarman, Take notice that on friday the 17th of Dec'r. next, we shall take the depositions of Richard L. Johnson & others, at the tavern of Mr. James Young in the town of Fredericksburg between the hours of 7 in the morning & 4 in the evening (and if prevented from proceeding on that day by any unforeseen event, we shall take the depositions on the next day at the same place and between the same hours) to be read as evidence in a suit pending in the Superior Court of Chancery for the Lynchburg district, wherein we are complainants & you together with Phil. P. Barbour and others are defendants, at which time & place you can attend if you choose. Lucy Johnson Bernard Johnson and others. Nov'r. 22nd 1824 Albemarle County to wit. This day personally appeared before me a justice of the peace for sd. county Robert Snelson & made oath that he delivered a copy of the above notice to James Jarman - on the 26th day of Novem'r. 1824.
