To the Honorable H. S. Watts, Judge of the Court of Hustings for the City Portsmouth, Humbly complaining showeth unto your honor that your orator's father, George Joiner Sr was in his lifetime seized and possessed of a certain lot of land with improvements thereon, located in that part of the City of Portsmouth known as the Fifth Ward, fronting 45 feet on the South side of Stonewall Street and running back between parallel lines 100 feet, as will fully appear by reference to a certified copy of the deed from Jas. L. Hatton et ux to George Joiner herewith filed and marked Exhibit "A" and asked to be taken as a part of this bill, and being so seized and possessed sometime in the latter part of the year of 1878, or the first part of the year 1879, departed this life, leaving a will which was duly proved and recorded on the 23rd day of January 1879, a certified copy of which is herewith filed as Exhibit "B" and prayed to be considered as a part of this bill.
