Know all men by these presents that we Edwin G. Booth and Thos S. Gholson are held and firmly bound unto the commonwealth of Virginia in the sum of one thousand dollars, to the payment of which well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs Executors and Administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our seals and dated this 25th day of March 1859 The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas by a decree of the Circuit Court for Dinwiddie County, pronounced on the 25th day of March 1859, in a suit therein depending between Thos. Stewarts distributees /c Pantiffs and Thompson Ferguson &c Defendents it was amogst other things decreed that Edwin G. Booth, should receive the sum of $553 - 24 cts. Now if the said Booth shall account to the representatives of Nancy - Stewart - Mary - Thomas Charles - John [Mourning?] [illegible] children and [illegible] of Thomas Stewart ded, for any portion of the above sum to which they may prove themselves entitled, before this Court, then the above obligation to be paid otherwise remain in full [illegible] & virtue Edwin G.
