This agreement made this 16th day of March 1852 Between Thomas Berry and R. H. Mann as ajent [agent] for E. G. Booth. Witnesseth that whereas judgments have been obtained in Dinwiddie Court in favour of Stewarts representatives vs S. Thompson's representatives - which subjects the land or part of the lland on which the said Thompson formerly resided - and whereas the said Berry is interested by purchase, agency or otherwise in the benefit of said land - and whereas the said Berry has heretofore without the knowledge or negotiation or representation of said Mann or Booth been offereing the interest in said land at $300. for the whole interest. Now this agreement Witnesseth, that the said Berry sells to the said Mann as agent aforesaid the entire interest in said land for $300 - the said Berry taking the responsibility of said sale and settlement with the parties concerned. the said $300 to be paid as the rights in said land are made satisfactory to said Mann For the fulfilment of said contract the said parties bind themselves, heirs &c.
