Sexes. Males 11, females 7. Average age 9 years 9 months.

With the exception of two cases of measles and two cases scarlet fever, the children have enjoyed excellent health; consequent to said disease they were not able to attend school as regularly as desired, although of the twelve who attended the public schools, eight passed their examination and will be promoted at the next session. They have been amply provided with al necessary comforts. Their moral and religious training has been looked after at home and by their being required to attend regularly church and Sabbath school each Sunday. They are about evenly divided in their relation to the churches, and attend the Baptist, Episcopalian, Methodist and Presbyterian dominations. Two boys counted in the above total, were apprenticed May 12th the moulders trade at the S..A.L. Shops, and are doing very well; they have been taken from the roll of dependents and are living at the Asylum as self-sustaining inmates.
