it is the opinion of the court that the said slave Harry be hanged by the neck until he be dead. But on motion of the prisoner with his consent it is considered by the court that the said slave Harry be punished by sale & transportation beyond the limits of the United States, all of which is ordered to certified to the Executive of this Commonwealth. And the court proceeding to value the said slave Harry, as the law directs each of the Justices present affixed to him, such a value as in his opinion the said slave would bring if sold publicly with a knowledge of the circumstances of his guilt: Whereupon Thomas M. Bragg, valued the said slave at $780. Henry T. Sarnets at $780, John F. Brockenbrough at $780. Samuel B. Atwill at $780. & Edward B. Omohundro at $780. from which the legal value of the said slave is ascertained to be $780 and the said slave is remanded to jail. A Copy Teste J. I Elizabeth Storke do hereby assign, to Lawrence Washington, for value received the sum of Seven hundred & Eighty dollars, it being the amount in the foregoing record mentioned and he is hereby authorized to draw and receipt for the same - Witness my hand & seal this 30th October 1851 E Storke Seal Chas. C. Baker I hereby assign to A. Goodwin esquire Cashier of the Farmer's Book of Va, in Fredbg [Fredericksburg] : the sum of seven hundred and eighty dollars, mentioned in the above record & assigned by Elizabeth Storke to me: & I authorize him to draw and receipt for the sum.
