Someone has confused the John Shaw who wrote the two books mentioned above with the John Shaw who owned the Kodachrome slides mentioned above that were purchased by the Virginia Library!

The John Shaw who wrote those books and many more, is alive and well as I write this comment, February 3, 2012.
